ACTION:

Notice of intent.

SUMMARY:

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), intends to grant to Somahlution, Inc., a Delaware corporation, doing business at 3401 Fiechtner Drive, Fargo, North Dakota 58103, USA, an exclusive license to practice the following patent: U.S. Patent No. 6,569,615, "Composition and Methods for Tissue Preservation," issued May 27, 2003. Copies of the published patent may be obtained from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office at www.uspto.gov.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

It is in the public interest to so license these inventions to Somahlution, Inc. in order to facilitate the development and commercialization of new and useful means for "in situ" and "ex vivo" preservation of tissues and organs. The prospective exclusive license will be royalty-bearing and will comply with the terms and conditions of 35 U.S.C. 209 and 37 CFR 404.7. The prospective exclusive license may be granted, unless VA ORD receives written evidence and argument within 15 days from the date of this published Notice, which establishes that the grant of the license would not be consistent with the requirements of 35 U.S.C. 209 and 37 CFR 404.7.
