Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 1993-ASTM International-Standards
Notice is hereby given that, on September 15, 2004, pursuantto section 6(a) of the National Cooperative Research andProduction Act of 1993, 15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. ("the Act"),ASTM International-Standards ("ASTM") has filed written notifications simultaneously with the Attorney General and theFederal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the name and principalplace of business of the standards development organization and(2) the nature and scope of its standards development activities.The notifications were filed for the purpose of invoking theAct's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs toactual damages under specified circumstances.
Pursuant to section 6(b) of the Act, the name and principalplace of business of the standards development organization is:ASTM International, West Conshohocken, PA. The nature and scopeof ASTM's standards development activities are: To developstandards in over 130 areas covering subjects including consumerproducts, medical services and devices, electronics,metals, paints, plastics, textiles, petroleum, construction,energy and the environment.
